Happy Halloween!

I hope that everybody had a very fun Halloween! Yes, it was again, almost FIVE months ago, but here's what we did!

Taylor & I did not really celebrate, but we did dress up and pass out candy to the trick or treaters in our apartment. There were not a ton, but enough to make it all worth it! I am sure everybody saw on Facebook what we were, but can you guess from the picture below???

If you said fairy & hobo, you were almost right...haha!

We were a Forest Fairy & Lumberjack! I bet you almost didn't recognize Taylor with that face full of hair...well it wasn't real hair, but it looks good huh? We wanted to dress up, but we didn't really want to go buy a costume so we just used what we had! I wore that costume a couple years ago and was a Forest Fairy to go trick or treating for cans with the Aggies for Christ. There was another guy who went and he happened to be dressed up a lumberjack so it was pretty funny that I wanted to save the forest and he wanted to chop it all down. So I thought what a cute idea for a couples costume! So that is what we dressed up as!

My favorite part of the night was when we would open the door and the kids would ooooh and ahhhh because we were dressed up! I guess that doesn't happen a lot, but I think that I will always do that! I remember when I was little it was always fun when the people giving the candy were dressed up too!

We made pizza & Halloween cookies and just enjoyed the trick or treaters. It was a nice evening, and a great first married Halloween! We can't wait for many more ahead! We already started thinking of other great ideas for years to come! Get excited!

Love you all!

Hill Wedding!

So yes, as a matter of fact, the Hill wedding was on October 8th - and yes I am about 5 months late, but hey, its up! Enjoy!

Getting ready at the hotel
That weekend Taylor & I loaded up and flew to San Antonio, Texas! We were so happy to be back on Texas soil. It was a short trip, but totally worth it! We went for our friends' wedding, Preston Hill & Stephanie (now) Hill. Preston & Taylor were corps buddies in Sq. 17 (whoop), and I knew Preston from campaigning for yell boy stuff before I even knew Taylor! I also knew Stephanie before I knew Taylor from campaigning. Needless to say, we've known them for a while and we were so excited to be able to share in their big day!

At the beautiful ceremony!
We left the Mobile airport around 7, flew to Houston, with a layover and then flew into San Antonio. We rented our first car (yes I am old enough to do so..that's weird). We drove to Boerne where the wedding was taking place. We checked into our hotel, got ready, and then drove out to The Lost Mission. It was so beautiful. Made me miss the hill country even more than I already thought I had.

Whoop!
It was so wonderful seeing all kinds of familiar faces. We saw a lot of Taylor's old corps buddies and their girlfriends/wives. The ceremony was great, Stephanie was gorgeous! They had a mariachi band that was so awesome. It was a sweet touch since they are both from the San Antonio area. During the ceremony, Preston's brothers played the guitar and fiddle, and one brother sang along with one of Stephanie's bridesmaids. It was beautiful. It was so personal to have their loved ones included in that way, I loved it. Preston & Stephanie looked so in love the entire time and so very happy once they were officially wed!
The gorgeous bride!
The mariachi band followed them out which was adorable! After the ceremony the plan was to have a little cocktail time in the courtyard, but wouldn't you know it, Texas weather had a hand in that and it started raining. It wasn't bad rain, but they decided to just move us into the reception hall. This was beautiful as well. The Lost Mission is a lot like where Taylor & I got married in the fact that everything was able to take place right there. The Bride & Groom could get ready there, the ceremony was there, the reception, the catering, all of it. And it was all great! I loved their decorations and their cake was really pretty too. They had COBBLER PIE for Preston's "cake" which was a cute idea.

Their first dance was sweet of course, and then Stephanie danced with her father. They were just precious, they busted out in the middle of their slow dance to "Celebrate Good Times". It was awesome! Then it went back to the slow music and Preston & his mom finished out the song with them. Once the dance party started, it didn't stop. Preston & Stephanie had such a great idea and they passed out maracas & cute flower halos (that's what I'm going to call them anyway). Everybody had a great time on the dance floor and Preston & Stephanie were right in the middle of it all. The night ended with everybody shaking their maracas as they exited.

That night we went back to the hotel where the groomsmen were staying (we were staying there as well). We made some room adjustments and Caitlyn was able to stay with me and Taylor stayed with Casey, Ben & John K. It was so great for Taylor to be able to spend that time with friends and catch up and I loved having girl time/slumber party with Caitlyn! The next morning we all met down for breakfast. Some other friends were there as well with Taylor, Casey, Ben, John, Austin, Steven & Joe...I think that's all. But we had a good time catching up some more. Once it was time to check out, everybody headed back home.

See? Adorable like I said!
Taylor & I weren't flying out of SA until around 6, so we decided to make a pit stop to see some of our favorite twins! We were so excited when it worked out for us to see Rhett & Rhys. I didn't take any pictures that day, but here is one to show you just how cute & what great Aggies they are! We had so much fun playing with Rhett & Rhys and getting to hang out and catch up with our good friends Misty & Tim. I met Tim & Misty two years ago while I was an intern at the church they go to. When we found our mutual love for A&M, Aggies for Christ, mission work, and Sq 17, we were doomed, we were going to be friends forever. They are amazing, and just another reason we can't wait to get back to Texas!

At the end of the night!
We got back pretty late on that Sunday night, and waiting for us were our wedding photos! We were so excited to see that they had arrived! It was such a special weekend to experience our first wedding as a married couple, to see all of the traditions that we had at our wedding, to hear the vows and promises (some the same that we had made), it was just really special. Taylor & I both agree that weddings are just so much more special to us now that we've been there and we can remember those moments from our day each time we attend one. Thank you Stephanie & Preston for allowing us to be a part of your special day! We miss y'all and cannot wait to see you both again!!!
Love you all!

Oopsy!

Howdy all of our faithful readers!

So glad to see you are still around after me being MIA! I am truly so sorry for the lack of posts in the last couple of months. As we all know the holidays for some reason make the days go by much faster and we lose all of the spare time we had. And then when the holidays are over we feel like we are playing catch up forever - and then we end up forgetting what we did with our spare time. And thus we are here, where I forgot that I used to blog! Luckily a good friend of mine called me out on Twitter (yes I am on that bandwagon if you weren't aware) and I am so glad she did.

So as I said, here we are - trying to pick up where we left off. I truly do have about 5 posts written that I have been wanting to add pictures to before I posted, so I am going to focus on getting that done this evening while Taylor is working on Fellowship applications and homework. It'll be helpful to not distract him. So this is me, saying I am sorry for my absence, and telling you to get ready for lots and lots of posts. We have posts about holidays, travels, weddings, VISITORS and future plans! Thank you all again for not giving up on our blog and for continuing to check it out.

We love you all!!
