It's an amazing feeling when you realize that you've found that best friend you searched your entire life for. And that this best friend isn't going anywhere. Ahhhh, feels good!
For our fourth anniversary we followed/will follow the traditions of anniversaries. Traditional gifts are a tradition that everyone knows and many abide by. We have another tradition we started on our first anniversary; we will take a trip every anniversary to celebrate and that year's trip will correlate with the letter of the alphabet that the city's name will start with. I'll explain below! As I haven't ever blogged about our anniversary and this is year four, I thought I would share where our traditions have taken us so far!
Traditional Gifts
Year One - Paper : both made framed paper art with our vows
Year Two - Cotton : a sweatshirt, Texas t-shirt & hat
Year Three - Leather : football tickets (footballs are leather) & an overnight bag
Year Four - Fruit & Flowers : we shall see! Can't spoil the surprise :)
Anniversary Trips
Year One : A : Atlanta
Year Two : B : Boerne
Year Four : D : Downtown
As you can probably guess when we started the tradition of anniversary trips we had no idea the crazy journey we would be taking! Atlanta was awesome as a first year trip. It was a 5 hour drive from Mobile where we were living at the time and had a LOT to do! We went to Six Flags, the Aquarium, the Coca Cola Museum and ate a lot of great food! Then in 2013, we moved back to Texas and neither of us had an income so we came to south Texas, stayed with some great friends and spent some time in Boerne. It was awesome! Year Three we were newly moved to San Antonio and with new jobs, couldn't really take off any vacation time quite yet so we opted for College Station. It was amazing! No students meant we could drive wherever we wanted, eat wherever we wanted and roam campus! Year Four is obviously today and we now have a dental student in the family so time was an issue! We were creative and decided that Downtown (San Antonio) worked great for our D! We spent the night on the Riverwalk which meant being able to walk to dinner and then stroll the Riverwalk after. It was a fun time! We always have fun deciding where to go and even have some of our future letters/years picked out! I think I'm mostly looking forward to our 30th! We will have gone through the entire alphabet and be back to D - DISNEYWORLD!!! :) Taylor has agreed so I think we will make it happen!
Tonight we are going to have a quick dinner together at BJ's - I have a BOGO on entrees! Perfect timing BJs! We will watch our wedding video and probably look at some wedding photos. Then Taylor will study haha! That is our new normal and that is ok with me!
Before I go, I have to give a shout out to all those that attended our wedding. It was so special to turn around after we were man & wife and see all your faces. Thank you for love and support these four years! And a huge thank you to my bridesmaids. Y'all are some of the best friends a girl could ask for! I love you all!
And to Taylor - I know this blog is from us, but I have to say - I love you so very much! I really don't know what I would do without you, your love & your beautiful heart! I am so lucky to have you!
Thanks for reading! I told y'all - I'm back!
Love you all!
